Prima Dental, the world-leading dental manufacturer and Queen’s Award for Enterprise winner based in Gloucester, has entered the Indian dental market with the launch of a full range of dental burs at a major international trade show in New Delhi.

Bringing wider choice to India’s dental profession, Prima Dental launched a range of 40 burs (dental drills), including its flagship Predator range, to cover the complete spectrum of dental requirements at the 2014 FDI World Dental Congress hosted in the Indian capital last week (11-14 September). Indian cricket legend Kapil Dev, recognised as one of sport’s greatest ever all-rounders, attended the manufacturer’s launch event as Prima Dental celebrated its entrance into the Indian market with a gathering of senior dental professionals from around the world at the prestigious trade show.

Dan Hodgson, sales manager at Prima Dental, commented: “We are thrilled to be entering the Indian market, and bring the benefits of Prima Dental’s burs to India’s substantial dental profession and its patients. That Kapil Dev was able to attend the launch as our special, star guest added even more excitement to the very well attended launch event. Dan continued: “Prima Dental is the first British dental bur manufacturer to invest and set up a sales and distribution channel in India. The company will work with carefully selected distributor partners to supply burs across India and the subcontinent. The company’s distributors and sales teams in India will benefit from effective sales support and effective stock control.”

Prima Dental’s launch in India comes shortly after the company made news by winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, the UK’s most prestigious business award, in recognition of its success in international trade. Awarded annually by the HM The Queen, the coveted Awards are only given for the highest level of excellence and reflect Prima Dental’s international success and world-class products. Dan Hodgson further added: “Our investment and entry into India marks a new chapter for Prima Dental’s ongoing expansion into the global dental market. We look forward to working with dental practitioners and professionals in India to bring them best-in-class products and an extended product range - and ultimately help deliver an enhanced dental and patient experience.”

As a market leader in the UK, USA and around the world, Prima Dental exports to over 85 countries worldwide and is renowned for manufacturing burs of the highest quality, using state-of-the-art Swiss-made precision machine tools. Prima Dental is a world leader in the design, engineering and production of top quality dental instruments, exporting to over 85 countries with growing markets in the USA, Europe, Middle East and Asia-Pacific. It is the fastest-growing carbide bur manufacturer in the world and has gained an international reputation among leading distributors, practising dentists and academics for being at the cutting-edge of its industry.
