An established Bicester business is expanding to Cherwell Innovation Centre at Heyford Park following the success of its in-house development team who have created a unique health and safety IT portal.

A team of 25 people from Zeta Compliance Group’s technology division, ZetaSafe, has relocated from Zeta House, Bicester, as the company prepares for the launch of its latest product, Zeta Intelligence. The Group will continue to occupy Zeta House.

Rob Nicoll, CEO, Zeta Compliance Group, said: “We have been at the forefront of mobile and web based technology since becoming one of the first businesses to use the cloud.”

To continue the success of Zeta Group’s technology division, Rob is offering an attractive career path for local young people interested in becoming a developer, which could see a school leaver earning a senior developer title and a salary of over £30,000 within five years rather than still paying off university debts.

Mr Nicoll said: “There is a severe skills shortage in Oxfordshire, which needs to be addressed if businesses like ours are going to continue to prosper. Many of today’s graduates who have studied a relevant IT degree are not equipped with work-ready coding skills. Therefore we’ve decided to tackle the issue head-on by offering a more practical career path via an apprenticeship scheme or our in-house training programme. We are keen to hear from local young people with an interest in becoming a developer.”

ZetaSafe is occupying 1,000 sq ft at Cherwell Innovation Centre across three offices. The technology division is aiming to employ three additional staff by the end of this year as its products continue to provide an invaluable health and safety service to many sectors including oil & gas, food, pharmaceutical and medical.

Tom Hanney, Centre Manager, Cherwell Innovation Centre, said: “We have a variety of businesses within the centre but there is definitely a strong science and technology community who benefit from being surround by like-minded people. We are delighted to welcome the return of Zeta and look forward to accommodating their continued growth.”
