Clocks have gone forward, days are longer and the sun is making a welcome return to the UK. If youre looking to make the most of your garden this year and for it to be an active and social part of your home, - or even part of your work life, then the GRAND Gardens area at this years Grand Designs Live London (30th April 8th May 2011) is a must for you to visit.



Packed full of ideas, inspirations, tools and suppliers, GRAND gardens has everything to transform, enhance and maximise your garden space from playrooms, spare rooms and home office solutions to innovative furniture designs and dramatic water features.



Also NEW for 2011, the popular House of the Future, brought to you by Virgin Media in the GRAND Technology section, will feature a Garden of the Future for the very first time, which will present products that harness technology to make gardening easier, whether youre an amateur or expert gardener.


In the GRAND Gardens section, you can also get FREE garden design consultations and advice too saving you around 100 in professional fees. Visitors can pop into the Garden Design Studio, which will be hosted by resident celebrity gardener, James Alexander-Sinclair, with their plans and ideas and get top advice and direction from an array of industry professionals. The stunning studio, designed by Garden Spaces will be a hub of activity and wisdom at the show.



This years Grand Show Gardens will be designed using the theme Contemporary New England. With beautiful colour combinations typical of this stunning part of the world, the gardens will showcase an enviable kitchen garden complete with an outdoor kitchen and an allotment space, both demonstrating how even practical gardens can also be a space to be proud of.

Garden Spaces



Garden Spaces is a designer and installer of high quality, competitively priced contemporary wooden garden buildings. They have supplied buildings for use as offices, gyms, music rooms, chill out rooms, artist studios and play rooms.

Dunster House - AMMAI Garden Office NEW LAUNCH



Introducing their new garden office design and unique bespoke order service; the AMMAI Garden Office is being launched at the Grand Designs Live.



As a leading garden log cabin manufacturer in the UK, they offer a wide range of garden offices in a modern or traditional log cabin styles that are perfect for adding extra working space to your home and garden.



The new AMMAI office is provided as a jigsaw design and is an easy to install garden office, with complete, interlocking, panels which slot together to allow for either a quick DIY or professional installation.



A unique online ordering system allows customers to design and preview their own cabin exterior and have all the freedom of a customizable design at no extra cost

British Hen Welfare Trust



This year, visitors can expect to see a selection of live hens in GRAND Gardens who will be cared for by the British Hen Welfare Trust. As the interest grows in keeping live hens, visitors will be able to gain valuable advice from experts on how to keep and enjoy these animals.

Natural Swimming Ponds & Pools A UK FIRST



Gartenart are the UKs leading designers and builders of swimming ponds, a natural, bespoke alternative to filtered swimming pool.



Rather than draw on a tight portfolio of predictable designs, lined in fibreglass or concrete, Gartenart create an original feature which harnesses the natural properties of reeds, rushes and other aquatic plants to purify water within an invisible, flexible membrane. This year, the world of UK swimming pools has also taken a leap forward due the Natural Swimming Pool Company; Clear Water Revival, who has created the first ever indoor natural swimming pool in the UK.


Clear Water Revival Pools provide a swimming sanctuary which is completely chemical free; suitable for indoor public and provide pools alike. Clever innovation and development has made it possible to create a natural filtration system despite the lack of sunlight and natural ecosystems. The pools do not rely on wildlife, aquatic plants and algae, typical of wild, natural swimming pools but instead they use compact filtration units, performing extremely well in heated indoor environments.

Atwork made for British weather



Atwork will be exhibiting in GRAND Gardens on stand G103 and are a small company that design and install bespoke aluminium environmental products primarily for commercial interiors.


Atwork have recently launched a new product - the BIOSSUN. This stylish Pergola is the ideal protection against the typical British weather, enabling greater use of your outdoor space. The innovative, patented system is manufactured from aluminium panels that are motorised and can be adjusted to various positions, allowing adjustable light intensity and natural air circulation to provide ideal outdoor conditions.

Moore Designs



Bring art to life in your garden with the amazing nest seat by Moore Designs. It lovingly cocoons you in a swirl of metal, creating a private space for you to escape the outside world. From the inside, the intersecting ribbons of metal frame the view from all directions, creating small captions of your garden for you to enjoy.



From outside the nest is a sculptural feast to be enjoyed through all seasons. Its spacious dimensions mean the seat is perfect for sharing, or for quietly wiling away a summers afternoon.

Ivycast: Outdoor Furniture with a twist



Ivycast produce a range of furniture totally suited to the British climate with a comfy indoor feel. The business is run by managing director and furniture designer Matt Hitchman and based in Gloucestershire. The companys aim is to create lasting outdoor furniture that matches the comfort and design of indoor furniture. Stand G470.

Bramblecrest



The Bramblecrest 2011 collection features a stunning mix of teak, aluminium and woven garden furniture. Inspired by the demands of their customer, the new range has been created to satisfy the exceptional standards associated with the products Bramblecrest supply. David Robinson of 'Up the Garden Path'



David Robinson is the award-winning garden designer who owns and manages Up the Garden Path' - a team of reliable, expert professionals who will help you plan, design and create your dream garden. You can choose from pure design or a complete design and build solution.



David created a roof top garden that won the Daily Mail 2005 Design Award, has won medals with his show gardens from the RHS together with many other accolades. He's lectured for the BBC at Gardener's World Live and Nottingham University and this year will be holding design seminars at Grand Designs Live. He is also a registered member of the Society of Garden Designers, the UK's professional body for garden design. All these recognitions of David's work are reassuringly representative of how successful he is in creating a breath-taking WOW factor in all of his design undertakings - from small residential gardens to huge, commercial developments.
