1. Scandinavian style and space-saving hacks in a Gloucestershire bungalow

Owners Simon and Gill Skeffington chose an unusual option for a guest suite and writing room at their Cheltenham bungalow. The old 1950s caravan in the garden cost £250 on eBay. “We completely repainted the exterior and interior, fitted new fabrics on the seating and cushions and installed wi-fi and electricity,” says Simon. Now it doubles up as a study and guest bedroom as there is a kettle, fridge and microwave inside. Find out the how the rest of this Cheltenham home was transformed.

2. Upcycled vintage furniture and custom artwork in a Dartmoor farmstead

Furniture designer, drunmmer and landscape gardener Mat has helped to turn this place from a series of separate buildings into a home that makes you want to run from one end to the other and back again. As well as the whole of Dartmoor to explore outside, there is just so much space inside. From the beautifully designed kitchen to the dining room and then downstairs to the boys’ bedrooms, through an ‘enchanted forest’ and into the big TV room - everything flows together. Find out the bright ideas that led to the transformation of this family home.

3. A light-filled contemporary space with sea views in Swanage

The emphasis, throughout Marilyn and John Wood’s Dorset home, is on light with a pale, gloss tiled floor extending from the modern glass porch on the front, right through to the bi-fold doors and balconies at the back. The living space is subtly divided from the kitchen by a contemporary, raised fireplace that neatly diverts attention from the essential, supporting pillars. With its high, curved ceiling and massive, linear roof-light, the new kitchen-diner is one of the most striking spaces. Discover how this space was designed to make the most of the sea views.

4. Pretty storage ideas to declutter a home office

When it comes to designing commercial office spaces, architects consider many elements – lighting, heating, healthy air circulation and providing areas to relax and social spaces among them. But when we work from home, these things are often ignored. If you are lucky enough to have a spare room, nothing could be easier than turning it into an ergonomic space you’ll want to spend time in. Good storage is a must; invest in some heavy duty filing cabinets that will store all those bits of paper (as well as home-related paperwork). Try painting them vibrant colours with specialist metal paints if you want to create something more aesthetic than gun-metal grey. Or go for something that looks more at home in a bedroom. 5. Country house style for the 21st century in a New Forest bespoke build

The piece de resistance of this Hampshire home is the spacious kitchen/breakfast/family room with spectacular vaulted ceiling and stylish modern country kitchen furniture. Light pours into the kitchen - creating a spectacular bright space. “I love the kitchen,” says owner Catherine Dunford. “It looked amazing on the plan and it has lived up to its usage and functionality. I can sit or stand at the breakfast bar and work (hidden USB charger and power point ‘pop-up’ from the island unit). My daughter does her homework here - it’s the hub of the house.” Find out how the owners completed this county home in Boldre, Hampshire.
