National Spa Week begins

November 2-6

 

With close connections to the M5, M40 and M4, and a convenient two hour train journey to London, the Cotswolds are the perfect location for a spa weekend away. Here’s our list of the eight Cotswold spa retreats you need to visit

 

Chipping Campden Firework Display

November 5

 

Get festive at Chipping Campden Recreation Ground with mulled wine and hot chocolate as you watch the fireworks display and warm your hands by the bonfire.

 

Fairview Fireworks Party, Cheltenham

November 6

 

Join Cheltenham Cricket Club for two firework displays, music, food and fairground attractions. For small children, there will be a low noise display earlier on in the evening at 5.45pm. The general fireworks display is at 7.30pm.

 

Photography Course at Blenheim Palace

November 7

 

Priced at £85 per person, this photography course led by Blenheim’s photographer, will teach you the basic concepts of photography, including controls, exposure and composition. Students are then free to explore the Park and Gardens after the course is complete.

 

Tewkesbury Bonfire and Fireworks Display

November 7

 

Tewkesbury Vineyard’s annual firework display is taking place on Saturday November 7 from 6.30pm this year. Get down to the playing fields early to secure yourself a great viewing point.

 

Celebrate Bonfire Night at Cheltenham Racecourse

November 7

 

Cheltenham Racecourse will be holding Gloucestershire’s biggest firework display at 7pm. Gates open at 5pm so come along early to enjoy the fairground attractions and children’s entertainment beforehand.

 

Bauget-Jouette Champagne dinner at Restaurant 56

Restaurant 56 is inviting diners to an ‘Award Winning’ Bauget-Jouette Champagne dinner to celebrate receiving AA 3Rosettes and winning ‘Gastronomic Restaurant’ at the recent Oxfordshire Restaurant Awards. The Nutcracker at the Everyman

Gloucester Christmas light switch-on

November 15

 

This year’s Gloucester Christmas Parade theme is ‘The Nutcracker’, with the procession beginning at 4.30pm from Kyneburg Tower and finishing at Gloucester Cathedral. The lights will be switched on at 5pm and there will be a carol service at the cathedral.

 

Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair

Visit one of the UK’s best vintage fairs at the Cheltenham Town Hall for your chance to browse vintage clothing, collectables, accessories, home ware, furniture and jewellery dating back from the 1940’s until the 1990’s.

 

Tewkesbury Christmas Festival of Lights

November 22

 

Join Santa for Tewkesbury’s annual Christmas light switch-on. There will also be market stalls, craft stalls and fairground rides.

 

The Smallest Show on Earth at the Malvern Theatres

November 23 -28

Worcester Victorian Christmas Fayre

Embrace the festive spirit on the atmospheric streets of Worcester with 150 stalls filled with the colours, sounds and irresistible aromas of Christmas.

 

Cheltenham Christmas light switch-on

The characters from “Frozen” will be leading fun and festive frolics until Father Christmas switches on the lights at the Regent Arcade this year. You can also enjoy late night shopping and free parking so it’s the perfect opportunity to get some festive gift purchasing out of the way.

 

Christmas Party at The Brewery

November 28

 

Christmas celebrations will begin with a Christmas light switch on where Craig and Ally from The Breeze FM will be hosting a fantastic evening of entertainment. The line-up includes a variety of local performers including young local performers from The Rock Foundry, Dance Works and a very talented choir.  Santa will be making an appearance and switching on the lights at about 18:30 and there will be guaranteed snow for everyone to enjoy!

 

The Stroud Christmas Tree Festival begins

November 29

 

Following the increasingly popularity of previous years, Stroud Parish Church of St Laurence will be filled with decorated Christmas trees again this year. Full details can be found here.
