With close connections to the M5, M40 and M4, and a convenient two hour train journey to London, the Cotswolds are the perfect location for a spa weekend away. Here are eight of our favourite places to go.

Whatley Manor

From the moment you arrive up to the grand doors of Whatley Manor in Malmesbury, expect to be treated like royalty. The hotel and spa boasts 23 individually furnished bedrooms, with most enjoying glorious views of either the manor’s perfectly manicured gardens or the pretty courtyard.

Revitalising facials, detoxifying wraps and relaxing messages await you at the Whatley’s renowned spa, as well as a stunning Hydrotherapy Pool which extends outside. There’s also a Tepidarium with heated stone recliners, salt scrub showers and a thermal suite to truly leave any worries behind. After being pampered from head to toe, indulge in the twelve-course tasting menu (matching wines optional) in the Dining Room where Michelin star chef Niall Keeting will serve inspired and delicious dishes.

Dormy House Hotel

Dormy House can be found on the Farncombe Estate, a stone’s throw away from the picturesque Cotswold town of Broadway. Based in a 17th century farmhouse, the rooms are elegantly and sympathetically decorated ensuring a stylish yet comfortable experience throughout your stay.

The ‘Scandinavian meets Cotswolds’ spa at Dormy House is a truly indulgent affair. Take a relaxing dip in the candlelit infinity pool before reclining in the tranquil thermal suite. Finish your visit with a soothing ‘back classic’ massage in the Suite of Treats.

Hatherley Manor Hotel & Spa

The brand new spa and leisure facilities at Hatherley Manor Hotel & Spa already have people talking for all the right reasons and it isn’t difficult to see why. Guests are able to enjoy a swimming pool with garden views, a Vitality pool with massage jets, sauna, steam room, a relaxation lounge, experience showers and a state-of-the-art gym, plus a modern dining area and bar.

With heaps of bespoke spa packages to choose from, there’s something to suit every occasion and budget. In between luxury treatments, using highly revered products from Elemis and Made for Life, stay cosied up in your complimentary fluffy robe and slippers and relax poolside or in the spa’s pretty private garden.

The Greenway Hotel

Whether you’re looking for a peaceful getaway for two or just some ‘me time’, head to The Greenway Hotel to spend a weekend preening, pampering, and polishing. The spa has a selection of treatment rooms, a sauna, steam room, sanarium and alfresco hot tub – providing a little slice of quiescent heaven within the Cotswolds.

After a hard day’s rejuvenation, enjoy a glass of fizz and a tasty supper at the Orchard Brassiere overlooking the spa gardens, before retreating to your room for a night cap and a comfortable night’s sleep.

Wyck Hill House

This country house nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds is a quiet and calm sanctuary ideal for spa-lovers looking for a weekend away. The hotel is traditionally decorated with large comfy four-poster beds, antique furniture and roaring open fires, making it a cosy place to snooze after a day in the spa. The views of the surrounding countryside are beautiful come rain or shine.

You will leave the Cotswold countryside on cloud nine after a visit to the Wyck Hill House spa. There’s a selection of luxurious and therapeutic treatments using well-known and respected brands, and unlimited use of the sauna and steam room between your treatments.

Calcot Manor

Nestled within acre upon acre of Cotswold meadowland, Calcot Manor offers a slice of understated luxury amongst beautiful surroundings. There are 35 charmingly decorated rooms to choose from, many of which are family-friendly. There’s also a babysitting service and an Ofsted-registered crèche available on site, so feel secure in the knowledge that your children are safe and sound whilst you dine and recuperate in the restaurant and spa.

The spa itself can be found in a secluded, quiet corner of the grounds where there are plenty of facilities on offer. Don your complimentary fluffy robe and slippers and put your feet up with a glass of fizz in the stylish lounge, or escape to the outdoor hot tub and bathe fireside. Whether you choose to indulge in a massage, mud wrap or an aromatherapy, you’ll be floating home from Calcot Manor.

The Kings Head

The Kings Head is a stylish boutique hotel in the historical market town of Cirencester. You are spoilt for choice with 45 individually decorated rooms to choose from so there are plenty of places to rest your head in style. Downstairs you can simmer down with a G&T from the extensive gin menu in front of an open fire, or spend an evening enjoying some tasty cuisine in the restaurant.

Downstairs, the subterranean dry spa has a selection of signature Lubatti treatments for both men and women to choose from. If it’s a bit of beautification you desire, take your pick from the holistic ‘essentials’ menu. In between treatments take a breather in the hot tub with a glass of bubbly.
