Sunday afternoons are made for lazing in a cosy pub, beer in hand and an overflowing plate of delicious roast dinner on the table. We pick 10 of our favourite places for Sunday lunch in Cheltenham.

The Strand

Located only a stone’s throw from the bustling high street, The Strand is the perfect pit stop for a traditional roast dinner after a Sunday shopping trip. All food is freshly prepared by talented chefs, and the kitchen is open 12 - 5pm on Sundays.

The White Spoon

Calling all foodies! Arrive for lunch on a Sunday and the White Spoon will serve up one of the best roast dinners to be found in Cheltenham. Expect traditional favourites with a quirky twist.

The Suffolk Kitchen

After a relaxing Sunday morning spent browsing the antique shops that adorn The Suffolks in Cheltenham, the Suffolk Kitchen is a welcoming place to enjoy a delicious Sunday roast and a glass of red. Lunches are served between 12.30 and 2.30pm.

The Beehive

Tuck in to traditional roast beef with all the trimmings at one of Cheltenham’s best kept secrets. If you’re still feeling hungry, finish your meal with the Beehive chocolate brownie, chocolate sauce and ice cream – as two courses are only £12 on Sundays (served 12 - 2.45pm).

The Wheatsheaf

The Wheatsheaf is renowned in Cheltenham for plating up some of the most delicious roast dinners in town. It is located at the foot of Leckhampton Hill too – the perfect place for burning off those post-Sunday roast calories. Lunches are served 12 – 3.30pm on Sundays.

House in the Tree

This lovely country pub serves up roast dinners comprising a selection of succulent meats, fresh seasonal vegetables, crunchy roasties and lashings of gravy – what more could you ask for on a rainy Sunday afternoon?

The Swan

Recline in the cosy surroundings at The Swan and enjoy a tasty roast dinner alongside a beer or even a Bloody Mary. From pepper crust roast beef to roasted pork with crackling, there’s plenty to suit all tastes and make sure to go hungry as the portions are huge!

Wild Beer Co

Beer lovers rejoice as the Wild Beer Co serves up a delectable Sunday roast as well as its impressive range of craft beers. Snuggle up on an oversized armchair in the rusticly decorated Jessop House and tuck into a plate of roasted meat, cheesy leeks, roasted veg and all the best of what you’d expect from a Sunday lunch.

The County Kitchen

Just a short stroll from Cheltenham’s high street, The County Kitchen can be found providing hungry patrons with mouthwatering roast dinners every Sunday. From 12pm-4pm expect a traditional affair with various tasty meats and all the trimmings.

The Clarence Social

Cheltenham’s latest hotspot The Clarence Social is more than just a place to enjoy a few cocktails on a night out. On a Sunday, diners can choose from Cotswold Longhorn rump of beef, collar of pork complete with crackling or perhaps the market fish of the day all accompanied by roasted potatoes and veg. Yum!
