From exceptional service to a menu packed with locally sourced, seasonal produce and an outstanding wine list. The best restaurant in the Cotswolds is one of the most coveted titles you can have.

The Cotswold Life Food & Drink Awards are one of the biggest events in the local calendar and it is hugely anticipated by the region’s food and drink industry all year round.

We champion the best local producers, suppliers and businesses that are passionate about the Cotswold countryside and the future of our local environment.

Thanks to both the nominations of the public and our well-respected judges, we have picked a winner worthy of the ‘Best Restaurant’ Award.

This year’s finalists

Jesse’s Bistro, Cirencester

Tucked away in the backstreets of Cirencester, Jesse’s Bistro has a mouth-watering menu that features fresh ingredients (including meat from their very own butcher). Locally sourced produce is used wherever possible, and each dish is cooked with both imagination and flair.

Judges commended the staff at Jesse’s Bistro for the service and helpfulness. They noted the establishment being situated in a great area with a fantastic atmosphere. Judges were also impressed with the menu choices.

My Great Grandfather’s, Tewkesbury

My Great Grandfather’s is a wonderful family-run restaurant in the medieval town of Tewksbury. The owners wake up at the crack of dawn to hit the local markets in order to buy the freshest of ingredients. This is widely reflected in their menu where fresh fish, meat and seasonal vegetables feature heavily.

Judges had a very enjoyable experience at My Great Grandfathers and commented on an excellent atmosphere and décor. The interesting menu incorporated a great range of local produce and the food ordered was fantastic.

And the winner of the ‘Best Restaurant’ Award is…

Prithvi, Cheltenham

Located on Bath Road Cheltenham, Prithvi has a polished approach to Indian cuisine, producing modern interpretations of classic Indian dishes. For those who appreciate the finer food in life, it is one of the tastiest restaurants in Cheltenham and it is ranked as the top rated restaurant for the town on Trip Advisor.

Prithvi provided judges with excellent advice regarding wine to compliment each dish. The food was described as flavoursome and judges were impressed by the attention to detail and service.

The ‘Restaurant of the Year’ Award is sponsored by Peter Hickman Hairdressers
