Westonbirt School inspiring young minds

Westonbirt School is a leading independent girls school, located in a stunning setting of 210 acres of parkland in the heart of the Cotswolds. The girls performed extremely well in their recent A levels, with 41% A*-A grades and with 46% A*-A grades at GCSE level.

As well as excellent teaching, the school provides superb facilities including a 3m Sports Centre with an impressive 25m indoor pool, sports hall, aerobics room and fitness suite. Many girls participate in our popular Tennis Academy and enjoy playing golf with the Golf Academy on our superb nine-hole golf course. The girls also play lacrosse, netball, rounders and polo at nearby Beaufort Polo Club. We also have a busy music and drama schedule; the girls frequently stage concerts and plays in the Orangery, the Great Hall and the Chapel and often perform in nearby cultural centres such as Bristol, Bath and Cheltenham, as well as London.

Westonbirt School received a glowing report from the Independent Schools Inspectorate in 2011:Girls overall achievement in Westonbirt School is excellent, academically, in their community service and in their outstanding personal development.

There are many exciting developments at the school currently, with a new state-of-the-art Music Technology Centre opening later this month and a new Head arriving in January 2013, following Mary Hendersons decision to move on to pursue personal interests after 13 years as Head.

The new Head, Natasha Dangerfield, joins Westonbirt from Harrogate Ladies College, where she was Deputy Head and Head of Boarding. She was previously at Gordonstoun School as Director of Pastoral Care and before that at North Foreland Lodge and Downe House. Natasha is an excellent sportswoman and while at Harrogate she was a Yorkshire County Lacrosse Coach.

Natasha relocates to Westonbirt with her young family and will also be present to meet prospective parents and girls at Westonbirt Schools forthcoming Open Morning on Saturday 13th October, 09:30am 12:30pm.

We hope to see you there!
