King’s High Warwick is a selective independent girls’ school for girls aged 11 to 18. Our expertise is girls; we provide them with an exceptional educational environment in which to thrive so they will become well-rounded, well-educated and compassionate young women. Our girls flourish under the care and inspiration of outstanding specialist teachers of the highest calibre. We welcome a wide range of girls with individual skills, needs and interests, placing immense value on the importance of personal choice and happiness.

The excellence of our teaching is at the heart of the school and is evidenced by the outstanding results our girls achieve. In 2013 we had the best A Level results in Warwickshire with grades of 87.6 A* to B and 57.5% A* to A. At GCSE, our girls achieved 97.2% at A* to B and 78.7% A* to A grades, the best for girls in the county. The scores were the best for all local independent and maintained schools, including grammar schools. Considering that grammar schools tend to attract the highest band of academic pupils, our results are illustrative of the value-added we afford our girls. King’s girls attend the finest universities and many enjoy distinguished and varied careers as scientists, doctors, veterinarians, engineers, journalists, authors, politicians, teachers, photographers, singers and actors. Many of our alumnae credit King’s High with the giving them the preparation and confidence to achieve their goals.

Sport and the arts are integral components of our girls’ days, both as academic subjects and extra-curricular pursuits. Our sports teams command many of the county championships in hockey, netball and shooting, and in swimming and water polo, we hold national titles. On an individual basis, girls hold titles in fencing, real tennis, sailing, dressage and cricket.

King’s has a rich programme of music concerts and drama productions, and some girls go on to study at major music and drama schools. Our art department is a hive of creativity and the girls’ award-winning work is displayed at both school and external exhibitions. This is supported by a range of scholarships available in sport, drama, music and art.

King’s High is one of three schools within the Warwick Independent Schools Foundation; a family of schools educating the entire family, boys and girls, ages of three to 18. Both boys and girls attend Warwick Preparatory School in a co-educational setting until the age of seven when the boys move onto Warwick Junior School and our ‘little sisters’ at the Prep embark on an educational journey which will lead them to King’s High.

Our intake is selective and our catchment wide. Our Prep girls are joined in Year 7 by girls from an average of 35 external schools, both independent and maintained. Places are also available mid school and for our Sixth Form. Generous scholarships and bursaries are available to girls beginning in Year 7 and for the Sixth Form. Our girls have all of the advantages of a focused single-sex education without the gender limitations often placed on many girls who are educated in co-educational senior schools. They enjoy the added enhancement of our Foundation relationship with Warwick School. This unique opportunity within the Midlands offers our girls co-educational curricular and extra-curricular experiences, especially in the Sixth Form.

In short, King’s High provides an enjoyable, safe and stimulating school life in which girls can grow into confident and secure young women, equipped to make choices as they progress through their education and enter the world, prepared for change and able to make a positive and generous contribution to society.
