Britain’s leading professional outdoor touring opera company, Opera Brava returns to the Cotswolds for the 11th successive year this summer, with performances of The Barber of Seville and The Impresario & Opera Gala

Join family and friends for a wonderful evening picnic under the stars on the beautiful Circle Lawn with the backdrop of Rodmarton Manor accompanied by indulgent sights and sounds.

“The Manor is looking forward to hosting Opera Brava’s Cotswold reach of the tour again this year”, says John Biddulph, owner of Rodmarton Manor.

Comments Bronek Pomorski, Artistic Director of Opera Brava, “enjoy a professional opera performance with chamber ensemble with cast in full period dress on the boards, set in a quintessential Cotswold venue”.

Rodmarton Manor is a supreme example of a house built according to Arts and Crafts ideals and was one of the last country houses to be built in the old traditional style when everything was done by hand with local stone, local timber and local craftsmen.

Enjoy an enchanting evening with Mozart’s comic opera The Impresario and a ‘pot pouri’ of inspiring music with the Pearl Fishers and Lakme duets, arias, trios and quartets all rounded off with a helping of Gilbert & Sullivan.

Rossini’s masterpiece The Barber of Seville is one of the wittiest and most immediately appealing comic operas in the repertoire today and is as fresh to the ear now as when it first burst upon it’s Italian audiences in 1816. On first hearing, the utter joy of one melodic masterpiece flowing into the next is thrilling to any audience.

Formed 30 years ago by two former English National Opera singers, Opera Brava aims to bring opera to a wider audience, bring together top artists from leading opera houses to gorgeous country house gardens and estates up and down the country.

As ever, Opera Brava extends thanks to John and Sarah Biddulph, owners of Rodmarton Manor, who have kindly granted access to their lovely gardens, and the generous support of Opera Brava’s main sponsor Aura Care Living, media partner Cotswold Life and EXPO Promotions.

Bring a picnic, blanket, chairs and a case of fizz!
