Opera Brava returns to the Cotswolds by popular demand with two nights of wonderful entertainment at a unique venue... and you can win tickets.

This is the ninth year that opera Brava will be performing in the Cotswolds and our third year at The Royal Agricultural University. A unique place in front of the exquisite Victorian building which lends itself perfectly to a magnificent weekend of Opera.

Opera Brava have assembled a fabulous cast of young, exciting and thrilling singers mixed with some international artists who have performed in major opera houses all over the world including Covent Garden and English National Opera.

On Friday night 29th of July at 7-30pm there will be a full blooded performance of Rigoletto. One of opera’s most vivid and compelling characters, a vengeful court jester, desperately tries to protect his daughter from disaster in this heart-wrenching tragedy.

The title role is played by Oliver Gibbs from The Royal Opera House and Rigoletto is the first fully developed character found in Verdi’s operas; his changes of mood and emotion seem naturally wedded to the dramatic situation, and his music has an inevitable quality, seemingly driving the story to its tragic conclusion.

On Saturday 30th July we present Mozart’s masterpiece The Marriage of Figaro with a star studded cast, two of the charachters have played the same roles at The Royal Opera House Covent Garden.

Probably the most perfect and popular opera. A day in the life of Figaro. A joyful farce in which we witness the foibles and intrigues used to reveal the indiscretions of a philandeing nobleman, Count Almaviva. Some of Mozart’s most sublime music features in this bittersweet yet uplifting comedy. Opera Brava’s new production with an International cast and set in the Eighteenth Century will delight and enlighten you in this glorious new production.

World class singing from Britain’s outstanding touring opera company.
