The Growth Hub

“Quite simply, there is no other partner that could offer The Growth Hub the countywide reach that the libraries have been able to do.”

Since first opening in 2014, the Gloucestershire Growth Hub, based on Oxstalls Campus in Gloucester, has delivered an outstanding level of business support and growth impact for county businesses. This has been evidenced repeatedly through national statistics and regional reports. Such has been the impact of The Growth Hub, that GFirst LEP is currently supporting a widely publicized network roll out which sees The Growth Hub service being adopted by strategic partners throughout Gloucestershire.

One such partner is Gloucestershire libraries and Information, which, as of the end of March 2018 enables The Growth Hub service to be accessible throughout their 31 strong countywide library network.

The Library network provides critical access points throughout the whole of Gloucestershire to provide entry level and signposting support to local businesses and entrepreneurs. With dedicated zones in each of the county libraries, this service is also supported by the launch of a new innovation lab in Coleford. Now live, the Innovation Lab offers clients the opportunity to use the very latest technology including 3D printing facilities.

Speaking of the crucial role the libraries play in the success of the Growth Hub Network Programme, Growth Hub Manager Sarah Danson said “Quite simply, there is no other partner that could offer The Growth Hub the countywide reach that the libraries have been able to do. We are very fortunate to be able to work with the 31 dedicated library teams throughout Gloucestershire to provide a facility which makes the fully funded Growth Hub service more accessible than ever to everyone who wants to help their business grow.”

Jane Everiss, Head of Library and Registration services at Gloucestershire County Council adds “If you are thinking about setting up or already run a local business and you want help to make it grow, why not call into your local library where staff will be able to help you access available support.”

The completion of the library network roll out will be followed by the launch of additional strategic Growth Hub centres in Cirencester, Tewkesbury, Forest of Dean and Stroud later in the year, supported by funding received from the European Regional Development Fund.
