‘ExploreExport’ takes to the road for Export week, 11-15 November 2013

South West firms are being offered an insight into a world of opportunities right on their doorstep as UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) hosts Export Week next month. UKTI has teamed up with partners and business organisations to run another series of regional events during the week of 11-15 November to encourage regional businesses to explore overseas markets.

Export Week will see the return of the South West’s biggest international trade event, ExploreExport. Now in its sixth year, ExploreExport will mark the start of Export Week which provides an opportunity to arrange one-to-one meetings with specialists who provide direct routes to market and new commercial opportunities, all delivered to help businesses enter new markets with confidence. Each event will also enable the region’s businesses to gain valuable insight from companies successfully exporting, learn the best way to approach trading overseas and hear about specific opportunities in various international markets. Russell Jones, Regional Director for UK Trade & Investment in the South West, said:“There is an unbelievable appetite for British products and services overseas and there has never been a more opportune time to take advantage of these commercial prospects. With the overall value of exports from the South West increasing in the year to June 13 compared to the previous year, it is encouraging to see more of the region’s businesses taking up the international trade challenge and benefitting from the support available to do so. Exporting is crucial to the growth of our regional economy and I am confident that we will continue to drive forwards for the remainder of this year and beyond.” At each ExploreExport event Commercial Officers from up to 60 global markets and experienced International Trade Advisers will be on hand offer valuable export advice to local businesses. Russell added: “In just one day visitors can meet face-to-face with UKTI’s in-country experts, attend relevant and practical seminars and speak with service providers that specialise in supporting UK companies to export.”

The seminars and events will offer informed advice on how to go about doing business in markets where increasing numbers of UK companies are prospering.

Events taking place across the South West during Export Week include:

Monday 11 November

Explore Export -

Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel, Wotton-under-Edge, South Gloucestershire

Thursday 14 November

Export Communications Review workshop – venue TBC

VentureFest – UWE Exhibition and Conference Centre, Bristol
