Nathan Evans begins his new role as Managing Director along with the new recruits

Former Production Director, Nathan Evans takes over from his father Steve Evans, who started the business thirty-five years ago.

Nathan took up his new role alongside the company’s 12 latest apprentices who have also stepped into their jobs with the electrical giant. While Nathan will be based at the company’s Gloucester HQ, the apprentices will begin their electrical careers at Clarkson Evans’ national branches including Birmingham, Plymouth, Trowbridge and Bracknell.

“I’m excited to begin my new role as managing director and it’s great to be heading up a company with such a strong tradition of apprentices,” said Nathan. “A long time ago I was in the same position as these new recruits and I can remember my first day as an apprentice as if it was yesterday. They are about to embark on a fantastic career path with great opportunities for progression.”

Nathan joined the company as an 18-year-old apprentice in 1994. After qualifying as an electrician and running sites for a number of years as a team leader, he moved into an office-based commercial role and then business development before becoming Production Director in 2015. Nathan’s latest promotion to Managing Director comes as the former MD Steve Evans steps into the part-time role of chairman.

Clarkson Evans’ branch network stretches from Newquay to Crawley and Southampton to Stafford employing over 700 highly skilled members of staff. For 35 years, the company has worked alongside all the UK’s major house builders including Persimmon Homes, Bovis, Barratt, Taylor Wimpey and David Wilson, among others. In 2015, Clarkson Evans wired over 16,000 new homes, that’s one in 10 of all new homes built across England and Wales, and are also an award-winning electrical training provider with City & Guilds approved centres in Birmingham and Gloucester.
